What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is the non-psychoactive portion of the cannabis plant, cannabis sativa, and it can also be found in the hemp plant. What are CBD tinctures, and how do they work?

CBD tinctures are made from CBD strains of hemp, combined with alcohol. When using a tincture, one places drops underneath their tongue and the CBD is absorbed. The number of drops can be increased or decreased. Check with your doctor to see how many drops are recommended for you.

What’s the difference between CBD from hemp and CBD from marijuana?

The only difference between the CBD in hemp and the CBD in marijuana is the low THC levels. In hemp derived CBD, legally, the THC levels must be 0.3% or less.

What is the difference between isolate, broad-spectrum, and full-spectrum CBD?


  • Less than 0.3% THC

  • Just like full-spectrum, except more THC is removed either chemically or thermally


  • All compounds are removed, making the oil 99% CBD.

Is CBD legal?

In 2018, Congress passed the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018. In 2019, the act became effective in legalizing hemp or cannabis as long as it contains less than 0.3% of THC (psychoactive portion of cannabis). Thus, the bill removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act and it expanded hemp’s commercial cultivation. It made hemp production legal in all US territories.

CBD has been used effectively for many types of seizure disorders, stress relief, anxiety relief, insomnia, neurodegenerative disorders like multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease. CBD can help control inflammatory muscle spasms, pain, and even cancer by preventing cancer cell growth.

CBD is a very effective anti-inflammatory agent, and thereby, it can help with many maladies that cause muscle pain and muscle spasms, skin eruptions and irritability.

How do I consume CBD?

CBD can be taken in various ways, including orally through oils and capsules or by adding it to food or drinks. You can also apply it topically through lotions, creams, gels, soaps, cleansers, sprays/mist and salves.

Will CBD help my condition?

There are no published studies yet that prove its efficacy, but many CBD consumers have seen a difference in their anxiety/pain levels and an improvement in sleep cycles.

What’s the most effective way to take CBD?

Can I get high on CBD?

Will Toka CBD oil cause me to fail a drug test?

Our full-spectrum CBD products do contain less than 0.3% THC, as specified by U.S. law. Although this is not a large amount, this does mean there is a possibility of failing a drug test. Tests are not all the same, so you may pass some and fail others. There is no way to guarantee you will pass a drug test when using CBD.
